Writers, artists, designers, and publishers can communicate to a broader audience than ever before, because InDesign is a powerful design and production tool that offers precision, control, and seamless integration with other Adobe professional graphics software. Gretchen Wieshuber will show you how to use Adobe InDesign CS3 to create and deliver eye-catching printed documents. Learn how to set up a new document, then import, format, and edit text. You will also create lists and tables, import and modify art, and learn how to export to PDF or prepare for printing.
Prerequisite: MAC OS or equivalent knowledge.

Advanced Adobe InDesign CS3 (Mac)


Discover the advanced features with Gretchen Wieshuber to create documents that are attractive and have the highest degree of perfection. Learn to: draw within InDesign, apply transparency effects, and use style sheets. In the second session we will work with master pages, layers, XML, and long documents, and learn how to add interactive elements.
Prerequisite: Intro to Adobe InDesign or equivalent knowledge.

Adobe Photoshop CS2

Introduction to Adobe Photoshop CS2


Join Paul Young as he explores the Photoshop interface and uses several tools to select parts of images as well as move, duplicate, and resize images. Learn to use layers, and to apply layer effects and filters to create special effects. Use painting tools and blending modes to create shading effects and perform adjustments to contrast and color balance. Finally, you will save images in formats for print and web use.
Prerequisite: Windows XP/Vista or equivalent knowledge.

Advanced Adobe Photoshop CS2


Improve your ability to create accurate masks, image effects, retouch images, and automate repetitive tasks with Paul Young. Work with advanced tools and techniques to create accurate masks and for better image editing flexibility. Create, edit, and save vector paths; and also convert a path to a clipping path to prevent pixels outside it from being printed. Create and save swatches, gradients, and patterns to fill image areas. Use Photoshop’s wide range of tools and techniques to create special effects in images. Use the Actions palette to combine a series of commands into a single command and to create keyboard shortcuts for frequently used commands.
Prerequisite: Intro to Adobe Photoshop or equivalent knowledge.

Dave Rathke is a technical support manager and instructor for the School of Information Technology at Illinois State University. He currently manage many different types of client/server technologies including WebSphere Application Server, Apache/Tomcat, DB2/UDB, Oracle, Microsoft IIS, along with IBM RAD/Eclipse development technologies. He has been a Java developer/instructor almost since the inception of Java – since version 1.02 of the JDK. He uses Eclipse and RAD tools in the courses he teaches and is a strong advocate of open source technology. He has taught many professional development courses in Java/WebSphere technologies for companies like Country Insurance and Financial Services, Illinois Department of Public Aid, Caterpillar, and Capital City Center in Springfield. Outside of his family, his interests include team programming with tools like CVS and application performance measurement.
