Let Steven Welland show you how to work smarter and faster, relying more on the knowledge and skills of teams, by identifying your primary communication style and those of your team members. Develop plans to build better working relationships with other team members.

Connecting the Generations

Rhonda Proctor will show you the importance of bridging the generational gap that lives and breathes in today’s workplace. By focusing on four key generations; WWII, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and the Millennials, you will better understand, plan, and manage workforce diversity based upon each generation’s unique “personality.” Become better equipped to overcome age-based stereotypes, build rapport, and effectively communicate despite (real or perceived) generational bias.

Emotional Intelligence: Responding At a Higher Level

Emotional intelligence is being smart with feelings. It requires tuning into emotional data, making sense of that data, and integrating it into your decision-making. Emotional intelligence is the innate potential to feel, use, communicate, recognize, remember, describe, identify, learn from, manage, understand and explain emotions. (Hein, 2007) You can increase your emotional intelligence by practicing awareness, by being more conscious of your choices, and by deliberately blending your thinking plus feelings to generate better decisions. It means consciously and carefully processing and using emotional information and emotional energy. The moment you begin to value emotions as a source of information and energy, you will begin to get more positive results in your relationship with yourself and others. Everyone has emotional intelligence – Keith Dutton will show you how to increase yours!

You Snooze – You Lose: Facilitating Effective Meetings

Being trapped in a boring, unproductive meeting is frustrating and wastes time. Yet, according to Steve Kaye, author of several books on effective meetings, the average employee spends about 40 percent of his time in meetings and 50 percent of that time is spent in bad meetings. That translates to wasting one full day a week. Turning this investment of time and resources into a productive activity requires the skills of a facilitator. Using the elements of facilitation, Carol Timms will help you save time and run effective meetings.

Developing Your Brand Identity for Today's Market

Most organizations are buried in ideas and we lack the discipline necessary to turn those ideas into repeatable and sustainable action. The challenge is developing a systematic process of prioritization and implementation of the multitude of ideas generated daily in your business. Join Paul Donohue in a discussion about what makes you successful and what sets you apart from others. What are the lessons learned over years of experience that makes doing business with you so special? The heart of all marketing strategies begins by focusing on the passion, the motivation, the inspiration that lies at the core of your company. It’s the stories we tell, not the products we sell that set us apart in the marketplace. Learn how to embrace and cultivate those stories to produce a unique voice in the market for a competitive advantage.

Ethical Leadership in the Workplace

In today’s highly competitive, performance-driven business climate, regulations are not enough; professional ethics codes are not enough; the old model of “business ethics” is not enough. According to a recent survey of corporate directors and general counsel conducted by the National Association of Corporate Directors and the American Corporate Counsel Association, “…the two groups overwhelmingly agree that the single measure that would most improve corporate governance is the establishment by senior management of an ethical business culture.” And, “another clear message of the survey is that ethical leadership from the top is the key to reducing corporate malfeasance.” Considering the ethical failures in the last several years and the resulting crisis in confidence, a sincere commitment to creating and sustaining an ethical business culture in public and private sectors has never been more important. Every leader needs to establish ethical principles at the center of their personal and professional lives. Join Keith Dutton and discover how to determine a personal foundation for your ethical leadership.

Effective (critical) thinking is the most needed and specific core competency for management. Yankelovich/Kepner-Tregoe did a study of 300 senior executives and found that 92% of those executives rated problem-solving and decision making skills as “absolutely critical” or “very important” to the company’s success. 80% felt executives in large organizations frequently missed achieving their objectives in decision making. Effective thinking, innovation and creativity are learnable skills. Join Keith Dutton and discover how to use your mind in more effective and powerful ways to benefit yourself and your organization.
