The Parkland College Dance team, the Cobra Charmers, finished in 8th place in the Open Hip Hop Division at the 2007 College Dance Nationals. The competition, held at Disney World in Orlando on January 12-13, featured 20 NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA teams which were invited to compete based on tapes submitted to a national board.

Twenty teams danced in the opening round of competition with the top 12 teams moving on to the Finals. The Lady Charmers were the fourth team to compete on Saturday and earned an 8th place finish in their first trip ever to the national competition. The Cobras were one of only two, two-year programs, to make the finals.
Orange Coast College of California won the title followed by the University of St. Thomas, St. Cloud State University, the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, and Lindenwood University.

The Cobra Charmers will perform their routine at halftime of both the women's and men's games tonight and will be recognized during the halftime of the men's game. Congratulations to Coach Kelly Englehardt and to all of the members of the team!
