The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act grants four specific rights to students at post-secondary institutions.

• The right to inspect the information that Parkland is keeping on them.
• The right to seek amendment of their records and in certain cases append a statement to their records.
• The right to determine who can see their records.
• The right to file a complaint with the Compliance Office should they feel their rights under FERPA have been violated.
