Degree and Certificate Programs
As a degree-seeking student, you can be working on your general education courses in preparation to transfer. These programs generally consist of 60 credit hours of classes that can be completed within two years of college-level work.
• Associate in Arts (AA)
• Associate in Science (AS)
• Associate in Engineering Science (AES)
• Associate in Fine Arts (AFA)
Parkland also offers Associate in Applied Science degrees that give students an opportunity to learn hands-on skills that will make them employable in two years of full-time study. Certificate programs can last from one to three semesters and also teach marketable skills.
Programs and majors
For students that have always dreamed of attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Parkland's Pathway to Illinois can be a good step in that direction. This dual enrollment program allows students to take their general classes at Parkland, plus up to five credit hours at UIUC at the Parkland tuition rate.
College credit while you're still in high school
Whether you are in a traditional high school setting or home-schooled, you may have opportunities to take college classes for credit if you are 15 years are older. Visit Dual Credit for more information.
Online classes
At Parkland, we see online classes as another great option for earning credits or even a degree. Online Learning will get you started with all the important questions.
Partnership colleges
Many students have plans to move on to another college after earning their associate's degree at Parkland.
